A Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) is a legally required, written document for non-domestic premises that identifies fire hazards, evaluates risks to people, and outlines necessary safety measures. A Fire Risk Assessment is a Legal Requirement. Employers, owners, or occupiers of workplaces, and common areas of residential buildings must ensure a competent person completes a Fire Risk Assessment. From 1st October 2023, ALL premises regardless of size and number of employees must conduct an up-to-date Fire Risk Assessment and record all of the findings.

A Fire Risk Assessment must be carried out by a person with the necessary qualifications, competency levels and experience in Fire Risk Management that gives them the status of “competent person” as described in articles 15 and 18 of the Fire Safety Order 2005. Stribo Ltd have over 30 years’ experience in the Fire Protection industry, and 15 years experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments. Our Assessors are members of the IFSM (Institute of Fire Safety Managers) and IFE (Institute of Fire Engineers).

Failure to comply can lead to fines, enforcement notices, or criminal prosecution if a fire occurs and safety was compromised.

If you have documentation in place (don’t worry if you don’t, this will be highlighted in the risk assessment for you to complete if required) the risk assessor will request to see evidence of. This is by no means an exhaustive list.
